Is new content automatically approved?

Do I need a Model Release and/or Property Release to upload content?

Ah, the dreaded topic of releases! We’ll make this simple, use a release whenever possible. It’s the best way to make sure that you, as a photographer, are covered.

The law states that if an image features a recognizable person, you’ll need to secure a model release. Keep in mind that tattoos, birthmarks, etc. can make a person recognizable, even if their face is not in the photo.

A property release is similar to a model release. However, it applies to property. If your image features property (e.g. pets, automobiles or artwork), you’ll need to secure a signed property release.

We understand that this can be a bit confusing and you may have a few questions. That’s what we’re here for! Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about releases.

Can I delete content that I’ve uploaded?

Yes! After signing up as a Pixels in Colour Contributor, you’ll have access to a personal storefront where you can add/remove/edit your images.
